RHD is comprised of five sections (Robbery, Homicide, Special Assault, Cold Case Homicide, and Special Investigation Sections), each under the supervision of a Police Lieutenant and tasked with investigating or providing surveillance support for a wide variety of select crimes that are often high profile in nature. It is a division under the command and supervision of the Detective Bureau. RHD is charged with investigating major crimes such as homicides and robberies. The Robbery Homicide Division (RHD, also known as the Homicide Unit) of the Zootopia Police Department was formed in 1968 resulting in the merging of the two previous divisions, the Homicide Division and Robbery Division.
